Genitorturers began playing together while they were in middle school. The bassistdiscovered his love of music by listening to his mom's record collection. The bassist wanted to start a group since he was in high school. Genitorturers began singing at Governor, a college club. The group used to practice at the lead singer's basement.

The group may have recently finished their latest album, but they are already thinking of their next move. Genitorturers's most current release has taken the group in a incredibly different direction, with a more complex musical structure.

Genitorturers was discovered while joking around, performing on the street one day. The band played for years atsmall bars making almost no money.

Genitorturers finally realized they made it as soon as the band’s first fan club was started in 1996 by Jessica DiSalvatore. The club started out small, with just a handful of members around Biloxi. After the group’s first national tour the club grew dramatically, reaching a membership in the thousands.
