Halelupe began performing at Academic, a college club. The band harassed the local radio station to play their first single. The members of Halelupe grew up together. The bassist was heavily influenced by his aunt's love for music.

Halelupe intends to take some time off after the tour, allowing the band members to pursue other projects. The group is in the midst of the tour accompanying for their newest release. The new project from Halelupe has been heavily influenced by singers of the 1960s.

Halelupe were still a little worried after they released their debut release, but were relieved when the release began to get some radio play. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller venues in which they started. Halelupe was discovered after their single was heard on a local music hour on X96.5. All the members quit their other jobs to focus on their record.
