The members of Halo of Locusts grew up together. The lead singer use to listen to records constantly as a kid. Halo of Locusts began singing at the college club Pocket. The band used to practice at the bassist's basement.

Halo of Locusts was discovered while joking around, performing on the street one day. The group really enjoys performing and is playing almost nightly before fans.

accepted that they had made it in 1996, after the group's first fan club was started by Jenna O'Malley. The fan club received a huge boost after Martha O'Malley designed a website for the group. That coupled with the tour nation wide saw the fan club’s official membership reach numbers in the thousands.

After this past hectic year the members of Halo of Locusts will spend some time apart to rest after a long year. The band is in the start of the tour promoting for their new release. Halo of Locusts's most current record is the band's first since the band members went to work on independent projects two years ago.

Generally, critics commend Halo of Locusts for their ability to connect with the crowd at concerts. Ann Arbor music critic Nigel Gibson has always mentioned group’s soul-searching lyrics. Halo of Locusts’s newest record has received superb reviews from William Ernhart, a music critic out of Springfield, and Jacob Brooks, from Sacramento.
