The members of Halo Stereo met in 1996. The guitarist was encouraged to play by his dad. Halo Stereo started playing at Speck, a college dive bar. The group used to sell their CDs out of their truck on campus.

The group recently finished their newest record, but they are plotting their next move already. The latest album from Halo Stereo took seven months to produce.

Even after getting the record deal Halo Stereo were not sure if they would make it in the end. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller clubs in which they began. got B100.5 to start playing their single and had their friends call in to request the song. A record executive heard it one day and immediately signed the group. The bandyears opening for bands at local festivals.

Halo Stereo finally realized they made it after Deb Verlinden started a fan club for the band in 1979. The group embraced the small fan club and with the launching of the group’s own website by Betty Felson and a well marketed national tour the club quickly grew to a few thousand.
