Halou’s members met in high school. The bassist wanted to start a group since he was in grade school. Halou started singing at Introspection, a local bar. The band used to sell their CDs out of their van at the local record store.

Halou's new release is the band's third record. The group is in the second leg of the tour accompanying for their latest release. Halou intends to take a break after the tour, to allow the band members to work on individual projects.

Halou were still not sure if they would make it after getting a record. They had heard too many stories and knew that they were in no position to expect anything. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller bars in which they began.

Halou realized that they were truly working musicians when Pam Dostal started the first fan club for the band in 1999. The fan club grew quickly from a few dozen members in a few cities to a few thousand across the world.
