Hammerfall began playing at Dancer, a college dive bar. The band kept asking the local radio station to play their early songs. The members of Hammerfall were friends in grade school. The guitarist was heavily influenced by his uncle's love for music.

The group is in the midst of the promotional tour for their latest album. Hammerfall will take some time off after this next tour, allowing the group members to work on individual projects.

After paying their dues and opening shows for years, Hammerfall was signed to a record deal. The bandyears opening for bands at dive bars.

Hammerfall finally realized they made it in 1996, as soon as Jenna Avondale started the group’s first fan club. While the club started out small after the organizer heard the band play at a small club in San Diego, the club grew leaps and bounds after the group’s first national tour.
