The members of Herb Alpert were friends in high school. The lead singerdiscovered his love of music by listening to his father's record collection. The drummer discovered his love of music while listening to his sister's record collection. Herb Alpert began singing at the local bar Cafeteria. The group asked the local radio station to play their songs.
