Honor Society began playing together while they were in college. The group used to practice at the lead singer's basement. Honor Society started singing at Lights, a local club. The bassist first found his love of music by listening to his brother's collection of records.
Honor Society talked to a program director from K102.5 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after Honor Society was signed. The bandspent years before being signed as an opening act. Honor Society’s first album did not do so well, but the second album was a hit, going gold. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in smaller bars in which they started.
Honor Society knew that they could really have a career in music as soon as the band’s first fan club was started by Maria Mitchell in 1991. Initially the group only had a few fans from Ann Arbor in the club, but after playing from coast to coast the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.
The latest album from Honor Society has been heavily influenced by bands of the '70s. The group is in the midst of the tour accompanying for their newest record. Members of Honor Society hope this next tour brings in more fans than ever.
