Iced Earth started performing at Synergy, a college club. The group was influenced by the British invasion. The members of Iced Earth met in high school. The bassist was influenced by his father's love of music.

The group is in the start of the tour accompanying for their latest release. Iced Earth will take some time off after this next tour, allowing the band members to work on individual projects.
