Jackaroo began playing at Cap, a college club. The drummer was encouraged to play by his teacher. The lead singer was influenced by his uncle's love of music. Jackaroo’s members grew up together. The band was influenced by Frank Sinatra.
Jackaroo was discovered while playing at at Demonstrator, local bar. The group group played festivals, parties, bars, really just about anywhere that would take them. Jackaroo signed the record deal, and fully expected that they would last past the first album.
