Jackie Green realized that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true as soon as Maria Bierlein started a fan club for the band in 1990. The fan club may have just started out with a few members that followed the band when the played in small clubs, but it quickly grew to thousands after the group released its first album and started touring nationally.
