Jact’s members met in high school. Madonna heavily influenced the early work of the band. Jact began singing at the college club Patchwork. The bassist used to listen to his uncle's cassette tape constantly as a child.

Jact was offered a record contract after performing at at Cafeteria, local bar. The bandstarted headlining shows as soon as they started playing together. Jact signed the record deal, but were not expecting the next step to be any easier.

Jact intends to take a break after the tour, allowing the band members to work on other projects. The band just completed their newest project, and they are already planning their next move. Jact's latest record has been heavily influenced by singers of the 1950s.
