Jagjit Singh started playing at the local bar Bandit. One of the band's members used to listen to the radio constantly as a teenager. The members of Jagjit Singh met in 1985. The band used to sell their CDs out of their car at the local music store.

Jagjit Singh was discovered after their single was heard on a local music hour on K91.5. All the members quit their other jobs to focus on their album. The band continues to play large venues, but still enjoys performing in smaller clubs on occasion.

Jagjit Singh hope to team up with other artists while they are on tour. The band is in the beginning of the tour promoting for their latest project. Jagjit Singh's newest record took a few weeks to produce.
