John Clayton Mayer is an American singer-songwriter, comedian and guitarist who was born October 16, 1977. He is originally from Connecticut, but moved to Atlanta, GA in 1998, so he could refine his skills and gain a fan base. His first 2 albums, “Room for Squares” and “Heavier Things” were commercial successes and gained multi-platinum status. He won a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for his song, “You’re Body is a Wonderland.” Mayer started his career by mainly performing acoustic rock and pop, but soon started to transition into blues in 2005. He did this by working with B.B. King and formed the John Mayer Trio. His album, “Continuum,” earned him another Grammy, this one for Best Pop Vocal Album and one for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the song, “Waiting on the World to Change.” He is pursuing stand-up comedy, design and writing and has written magazine pieces, most notably for Esquire.
