Justin Nozuka started playing at the college bar Engineer. The band was influenced by music of the 1960s. The members of Justin Nozuka met in grade school. The lead singer discovered his love of music while listening to his grandmother's music collection.

After paying their dues and opening shows for years, Justin Nozuka was signed to a record deal. The members of the group all quit their other jobs to focus on their music. After getting the record deal, Justin Nozuka were sure they would make it. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller clubs in which they started.

Justin Nozuka knew that they were real working musicians when Sandra Kaplan started the first fan club for the band in 1989. The fan club grew from a few dozen to a few thousand after Breanda Judge created a website for the band and a national tour gave the group plenty of exposure.

Justin Nozuka's newest project is the group's first record since the band broke up eight years ago. The band has just completed their newest album, and they are thinking of what is to come next. Justin Nozuka will spend some time apart after this next tour, allowing the band members to pursue individual projects.
