The members of Ka-pas De la Sierra met in 1997. The bassist wanted to start a group since he was in high school. The guitarist first found his love of music by listening to his grandfather's record collection. Ka-pas De la Sierra started singing at Flat, a college bar. The band was influenced by music of the 1970s.
