Kalas Tickets
Kalas’s members grew up together. The band was influenced by music of the '60s. Kalas started performing at Anyplace, a college bar. The lead singer wanted to start a band since he was in high school.
Kalas were still a little worried after they released their first release, but were relieved when the release began to get some radio play. Kalas met with a local DJ from K95.1 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the band.
Kalas realized that they were real working musicians in 1993, when the group's first fan club was started by Liz Yeubanks. The club started out small, with just a handful of members around Orlando. After the band’s first national tour the club grew dramatically, reaching a membership in the thousands.
After this last hectic year the members of Kalas will take some time off to rest. The band may have recently completed their most current release, but they are thinking of what is to come next. Kalas's most current release is the band's fourth record.
The group has always had a good time in Miami so they make sure to play there every year, even if they are not promoting anything. Kalas respects the fact that their fans love their older albums, so they go to great effort to incorporate the previous hits with the newest ones.
