The members of Karaoke Dreams met in 1989. The band used to sell their CDs out of their van at school. Karaoke Dreams started playing at the local bar Horse. The guitarist used to listen to radio constantly as a child.
Karaoke Dreams intends to spend some time apart after this next tour, allowing the group members to work on individual projects. The band may have just completed their most current release, but they are already planning their next move. Karaoke Dreams's most current album has taken the band in a surprisingly new direction, using more instruments than ever before.
Karaoke Dreams talked to a program director from K96.5 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after Karaoke Dreams was signed. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller venues in which they started.
Karaoke Dreams realized that they were truly working musicians after Kimberly Rastetter started the first fan club for the band in 1980. The fan club quickly grew from a few dozen in Shelbyville to a few thousand all across the country.
