Karate Coyote started performing at the local club Paint. Earth, Wind, and Fire heavily influenced the early work of the group. The members of Karate Coyote met in grade school. The lead singer was influenced by his aunt's love of music.

Karate Coyote will take some time off after this next tour, allowing the group members to recharge after a long tour. The band may have just finished their new album, but they are thinking of what is to come next. Karate Coyote's newest project has taken the group in a very new direction, with a softer edge.

Generally, critics commend Karate Coyote for their ability to rile up the audience during live shows. A music critic from Dallas, Tobias Wilmouth, has always been impressed with group’s crisp lyrics. Karate Coyote’s most current album has received tremendous praise from all the critics, including Norris Van Gundy from San Francisco and Jeremy Quinn from Chicago.

Karate Coyote met with a local DJ from K101.9 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the group. The groupplayed anywhere that would have them in the beginning. After the single hit the airwaves and became incredibly popular, Karate Coyote knew they’d made it big and were not willing to be just another one hit wonder. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller venues in which they started.
