Kastelruther Spatzen’s members met in 1986. The guitarist wanted to start a group since he was in high school. Kastelruther Spatzen began performing at Anyplace, a local dive bar. The band used to sell their records out of their van in the school parking lot.
After this last non-stop year the members of Kastelruther Spatzen will spend some time apart to pursue other projects. The band may have just completed their latest record, but they are planning the next release already. Kastelruther Spatzen's newest release has been heavily influenced by singers of the 1960s.
Generally, critics commend Kastelruther Spatzen for their ability to energize the audience during concerts. Marvin Hilgendorf, a music critic from Kansas City, has always pointed out group’s great hooks. Kastelruther Spatzen’s latest album is receiving terrific reviews from all the critics, including Harry Vanderhoff, who first saw the band sing in Charleston.
Kastelruther Spatzen were still a little worried after they released their first single, but were relieved when the release began to get some radio play. The band played for little to no money at first and was just happy to be given a chance to be heard.
