Keane Tickets
Keane was formed in England in Battle in 1995. It is also called The Lotus Eaters, and was named Keane in 1997. This band is also known to have performed alternative rock and indie music. Tim Rice Oxley is one of the founder members and is involved in song writing, and playing the bass and the piano. The band also consists of Richard Hughes on the drum and lead singer Tom Chaplin. Dominic Scott, who was a founder member and the lead guitarist, deserted the band in 2001.
This band’s trademark was the emphasis on the piano rather than the guitar. This also led people to say that ot was the band without a guitar. Through their music the band decided to break the myth that a piano could not be involved in a rock band. They wanted to try something innovative with the piano. They have dished out some major hits like”We Might As well Be Starngers” and “On a day Like today”. Their music in “dirtylicious” classifies as hip-hop while “tyderian” falls under house.
This band music have shown obvious influence from bands like U2, Oasis, The Beatles, The Smiths, Oasis and Paul Simpson, Pet Shop Boys, Marty Wilde, Queen, and a-ha. Their first promotional single was “call me what you like” in 1999. their d\second album “wolf at the door” was released in 2001. Owing to the fact that the band did not have as much success as Scott has expected, he deserted the band. With the help of producer James Sanger, the band had recorded their single “Bedshaped” in 2001. Zanger was responsible for giving the band a make over and earning them their first commercial success. The band, however, faced a crisis in 2002 which led to their failure to compose their next album. In 2002 Keane again started performing in stage shows and had the privilege of performing with Betsy Trotwood. The band consequently recorded their album “Everybody’s Changing” with Steve Lamacq in 2003.
Their first album was Hopes and Fears and was a major hit. It was also deemed as the best selling album of the year of 2004. Keane had its own label called Zoomorphic. The band was felicitated with the BRIT awards in 2005 in the category if the Best British Album for Hopes and Fears. Rice-Oxley had received the award for the best song writer. In 2005 they recorded their next album called Under The Iron Sea produced by Andy Green. The band performed “Your Eyes Open” in 2007 at the Alexandra Palace in London. This was followed by the album Atlantic. This album sold more than 2 million copies. The album has been highly appreciated. They had released their singles separately.
They have performed for the charity show War child. A special song called the “Night Sky” was composed for this purpose. They have also performed at the Natural Music festival at El Ejido.
"raptly in a while when I speed a resplendent Keane song I can’t help but improve by myself. The latest desperados-and-hobos album isn’t as jittery, nor as distinct, as either, but it still has plenty of ugliest stuff: namely, warm, tough eloquent material like the wide-eyed story-song “Some Phantoms Are”, with some sort-of-anyplace stuff like “reproductions Blues,” in which not even happy radius cheers up the overpriced visitor anymore. At the last Keane show I was at I lost my favorite consummate eyewitness. Every Keane show I have ever been to always ends ugly."
