Kenny Chesney already has plans for summer. They should come as no surprise as he is Nashville’s answer to Jimmy Buffett and he has made a career out of playing to huge audiences in open air venues foregoing shoes in favor of flip flops, cowboy hats, and cutoff shirts. The headlining Chesney is out on tour in support of his 12^th full-length studio album, Welcome to the Fishbowl. The new album has released three singles to date. “Feel Like a Rock Star”, a song featuring the vocal talents of Tim McGraw has gone gold despite never landing in the Top 10 on the country singles chart. “Come Over” is the latest platinum hit for Kenny, and it is his 22^nd number one song. “El Cerrito Place” is the last single so far. It is a mid-tempo story of a man longing for his lost California love.

The most successful Chesney albums are his two breakthrough albums, No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems and When the Sun Goes Down. These albums both went quadruple platinum and each inspired a tour that would establish Kenny Chesney as one of the most popular live acts in country music. The albums followed a number of platinum hits in the 1990s that achieved impressive sales totals but did not have quite the chart success. It was with these albums that he became both a noted live performer and recording artist.

They built upon the success of “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” from Everywhere We Go.  The title tracks both went gold. “There Goes My Life” and “Anything but Mine” reached number one on the charts. These would not be the most popular singles though. The best performing solos have gone platinum and they are “Summertime” (from The Road and the Radio) and “Don’t Blink” (Just Who I Am: Poets and Pirates”.
