After this last busy year the members of Killing Joke will spend some time apart to recharge after a long year. Killing Joke’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some exposure. The group really enjoys performing and is playing almost nightly in front of fans. Killing Joke met with a local DJ from B89.9 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the band. The band regularly played at Adult before making it to the big time.
Killing Joke finally knew they made it after Anna Krishnamurthy started a fan club for the group in 1998. Starting out in Chicago with a few dozen members, the club grew fast, eclipsing a couple thousand across the country in under a year.
Every time the band comes to Washington, D.C. they are sure to stop at Beach and play a show. Killing Joke will mix songs from the newest album with hits from its older project.
