Kiss Tickets
Paint your face and get your tongue muscle ready because Kiss tickets are coming to a town near you! One of the most well known bands of this era, Kiss has had a very long and productive history.
Kiss started up with a small band created by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley called Wicked Lester. In late 1972, the two artists saw an ad in Rolling Stone by Peter Criss, a well known drummer in New York, who has been seen in both Lips and Chelsea. He auditioned and joined for the new version of Wicked Lester.
The band started to update its look, utilizing the theatrics of Alice Cooper and the New York Dolls. They also started wearing face make up and unique outfits to fit their new look. Soon, the group added lead guitarist Ace Frehley. The band, now set, created the name Kiss off of Criss’s band Lips.
The band quickly made its first album on September 10th, 1975 labeled as Alive! The album received gold status and had the first single for Kiss, the live version Rock and Roll All Nite received status at the top of the charts. The success to the album gave Kiss the breakthrough they needed, and also saved their label to help them create Destroyer.
Soon the albums Rock and Roll Over and Love Gun in 1977 were released alongside Alive II, their second live album. It seemed that after a long tour, Criss preformed with group with his last time in 1979 until the reunion show in 1996. Kiss took a more conventional method after the loss of Criss, and decided to take the make up off and release a new metal album, Lick it Up. They appeared on MTV for the first time without the makeup, shocking the world.
Soon after, the band decided to reunite and run a reunion tour around the world. Criss again bailed during the tour and Eric Singer replaced Criss and donned the Cat Man persona as the Farewell tour continued.
The band appeared on American Idol in 2009 performing with Adam Lambert while singing Rock and Roll All Nite and Detroit Rock City. Later, Paul Stanley announced a release of their new album, Sonic Boom which included new material as well as re-recorded famous Kiss hits and a live DVD. The band promoted the album with late show hosts on many networks.
