Kronos Quartet’s first album did not sell well, but received critical acclaim. The second album was a hit and the band was saved from being released by the record company. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller clubs in which they started.
Kronos Quartet accepted that they were truly working musicians after Kimberly Brady started a fan club for the band in 1990. The fan club started out small with just a handful of members, generally localized to the area around Tampa, but the creation the band’s website by Melissa Gasteyer, along with the first real national marketing campaign, saw the membership to grow into the thousands.
Members of Kronos Quartet hope this tour and the new record attracts another audience. The band recently finished their latest project, and they are thinking of what is to come next. The latest project from Kronos Quartet took eleven months to put together.
