The members of Labour met in middle school. The lead singer first found his love of music by listening to his family's record collection. Labour started singing at the local dive bar Anyplace. The band was influenced by Dolly Parton.

Labour was discovered while putting on a show at at City, a local dive bar. The band's members all had weird jobs while they waited to be noticed. Labour’s first release climbed the charts quickly, giving them national exposure.

Labour accepted they had finally made it in 1977, as soon as Barbara Lamango started the group’s first fan club. Starting out with just a few dozen members in Raleigh, the fan club quickly grew with band’s national tour and the launching of the group’s website by Amanda Rastetter.

The newest album from Labour has taken the band in a new direction, with a heavier sound. The group may have just completed their most current project, but they are plotting their next move already. Members of Labour hope to collaborate with other artists during the tour.

Generally, critics have commended Labour for their ability to connect with the audience during live performances. Phoenix music critic Abrahams DiSalvatore has always been enamored with band’s superb bassist. Labour’s newest album is receiving excellent reviews from all the critics, including Francis Lewis, who first saw the group perform in Cleveland.
