Ladybug Transistor’s members grew up together. The bassist used to listen to radio constantly as a child. Ladybug Transistor started playing at the college club Bandit. Music of the '60s heavily influenced the early work of the group.
Ladybug Transistor's newest record has taken the group in a completely different direction, using more instruments than ever before. The group is in the midst of the tour accompanying for their newest album. After this last hectic year the members of Ladybug Transistor will spend some time apart.

Ladybug Transistor realized that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act when Cynthia Hart started the first fan club for the band in 1987. Starting out with just a few dozen members in Buffalo, the fan club quickly grew with group’s national tour and the launching of the band’s website by Shirley Abbey.
