Lambchop started playing at the local bar Liar. The bassistdiscovered his love of music by listening to his father's record collection. The bassist was encouraged to play by his brother. The members of Lambchop grew up together. Music of the '70s heavily influenced the early work of the band.

The years of paying their dues paid off when Lambchop signed a record deal. The group played for years atdive bars making almost no money.

Lambchop realized they made it in 2000, after the band's first fan club was started by Helen Ernhart. After starting out with a handful of members in Sacramento, the club took off exponentially, growing to over two thousand in just a few months.

After this past non-stop year the members of Lambchop will spend some time apart to pursue other projects. The band may have recently completed their new release, but they are already thinking of their next move. The latest record from Lambchop is the group's first album in five years.
