The members of Lea Salonga met in 1993. The bassist wanted to start a group since he was in middle school. The bassist was encouraged to play by his high school teacher. Lea Salonga started playing at Technique, a local dive bar. The group harassed the local radio station to play their songs.
Lea Salonga will take a break after the tour, allowing the band members to work on other projects. The band recently finished their newest record, and they are thinking of what is to come next. Lea Salonga's new release took a year to put together.

After the group’s first North American tour, the fan club grew from the couple dozen fans who heard the band play around Oklahoma City to the thousands who heard them play across the world.
