Lonestar’s members grew up together. The guitarist used to listen to radio constantly as a kid. The lead singerdiscovered his love of music by listening to his brother's music collection. Lonestar began playing at the college bar Colleague. The group had their friends call into the local radio station to play their single.
submitted their single to K95.9 and a DJ took a liking to it. The group members were excited to have the opportunity to make an album and quit their day jobs that supported them while they worked hard at night to make their dreams happen. Now the group headlines shows across the country.
Lonestar realized that they could really have a career in music when Nancy Rummerfield started a fan club for the band in 1981. After starting out with a handful of members in Cincinnati, the club took off exponentially, growing to over two thousand in just a few months.
Members of Lonestar hope this next tour brings in more fans than ever. The band has just completed their latest release, but they are thinking of what is next to come. The new project from Lonestar has been heavily influenced by singers of the 1950s.
Often times critics will praise Lonestar for their playfulness with the crowd when they perform live. Brian Avondale, a music critic from Oklahoma City, has always mentioned group’s immensely talented front man. Lonestar’s most current project has received excellent praise from all the critics, including Terry Smith from Washington, D.C. and Dillon Ellenwood from Portland.
