Lupe Fiasco Tickets
Lupe Fiasco has risen from a track appearance to a full-fledged Grammy winning rapper in just a few short years. He started out as an aspiring performer in high school after listening to Nas’ It Was Written. Soon he was performing with a group called Da Pak and was signed to Epic Records. He performed as Lupe Fiasco, though his real name is Wasalu Muhammad Jaco. He took his name from nicknames and a pinnacle The Firm album.
Da Pak never made it beyond its one single and the group dispersed, but Lupe Fiasco would perform on his own, trying to sell tickets and albums with songs that featured underscored beats that allowed his lyrics to shine. While other groups rapped about money and women, he touched on issues that were far more real than champagne and extravagant SUVs.
By 2005, at the age of 24, he was featured on Kayne West’s Late Registration on the “Touch the Sky” track. The popular song exploded on the charts and his name became a hot topic as people looked for the next name in hip hop. His first album, Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor, burst onto the charts and he was recognized with the Best Rap Album Grammy and the recognition as the “Breakout Man of the Year” by GQ in 2006.
The rapper has since released his follow up album, Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool. He has been touring and growing his empire with a sneaker deal and by taking over as CEO of his music label, 1ST & 15th Entertainment.
