Mack’s members met in college. The drummer wanted to start a band since he was in grade school. The drummer was encouraged to play by his grandmother. Mack began performing at the local dive bar Cafeteria. The band used to sell their CDs out of their truck on the street.
Mack’s first album did not sell well, but received critical acclaim. The second album was a hit and the band was saved from being released by the record company. The bandplays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller venues in which they began. The years of paying their dues paid off when Mack signed a record deal. The groupplayed anywhere that would have them in the beginning.
Mack realized they had finally made it after Sarah DiSalvatore started a fan club for the group in 1993. Starting out in Miami with a few dozen members, the club grew fast, eclipsing a couple thousand from New York to California in under a year.
Mack's latest record is a refinement of their accepted sound. The band is in the start of the tour promoting for their newest project. Mack hope this tour and the latest album attracts a new audience.
Generally, critics will praise Mack for their playfulness with the audience during live shows. Sam Gitlewski, a music critic from San Antonio, has always praised band’s immensely talented drummer. Mack’s new record has received positive praise from all the critics, including Jeremy Gibson, who first saw the band perform in Orlando.
