Madness’s members were friends in middle school. The guitarist first found his love of music by listening to his father's collection of records. The guitarist was encouraged to play by his mother. Madness began performing at City, a college dive bar. The Animals heavily influenced the early work of the group.

The new album from Madness has taken the group in a very new direction, using more instruments than ever before. The group may have just completed their new release, but they are already planning the next release. Madness will take a break after this next tour, allowing the group members to work on individual projects.

Madness was discovered after their single was heard on B95.5. The group's members had horrible jobs when they started playing, just biding time until they would hit the big time.
