Madsen began playing together in 1976. The guitarist used to listen to radio constantly as a kid. The bassist was heavily influenced by his family's love for music. Madsen began playing at the college club Gala. Buddy Holly heavily influenced the early work of the group.
Madsen was discovered while joking around, performing on the street one day. Madsen’s single rose quickly in the charts giving then the national recognition they always wanted.
Madsen knew that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true in 1976, when Kimberly Quinn started the band’s first fan club. The club started out in Oklahoma City with a handful of members, but grew tremendously once their singles started getting national air time.
The band may have recently finished their newest album, but they are plotting their next move already. Madsen's members hope this next tour brings in more fans than ever.
Critics have often commended Madsen for their ability to energize the crowd during live shows. Dallas music critic Isiah Ullmann has always praised band’s great lyrics. Madsen’s new project has received incredible reviews from all the critics, including Burt Klinger from Oklahoma City and Wes Cotroneo from Buffalo.
