Matt Nathanson knew that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act in 1989, after the band's first fan club was started by Kimberly Verlinden. After the band’s first North American tour, the fan club grew from the couple dozen fans who heard the band play around Dallas to the thousands who heard them play across the nation.
