The members of Momix met in college. The bassist wanted to start a band since he was in college. Momix began playing at Guy, a college bar. The band had their friends call into the local radio station to play their first release.

Momix intends to take some time off after the tour, to allow the band members to work on individual projects. The band may have recently completed their most current release, but they are thinking of what is to come next. The newest record from Momix took seven months to record.

Momix was discovered after their single was heard on Q98.1. The group's members had horrible jobs when they started playing, just biding time until they would hit the big time.

Momix finally realized they made it when Melissa Parquette started a fan club for the group in 1999. The group embraced the small fan club and with the launching of the group’s own website by Patricia Felson and a well marketed national tour the club quickly grew to a few thousand.
