Musiq began singing on the street for anyone who would listen. One of the band's members used to listen to the radio constantly as a kid. Musiq began playing together in 2000. Professor Longhair heavily influenced the early work of the group.

Musiq will spend some time apart after this next tour, allowing the band members to work on individual projects. The group is in the beginning of the accompanying tour for their latest album.
