Negative Approach began playing together in 1980. The band used to practice at the lead singer's basement. Negative Approach began playing at the college club Closet. The lead singer discovered his love of music while listening to his family's collection of records.
The most current project from Negative Approach is a refinement of their critically-acclaimed sound. The group has just completed their latest project, and they are plotting their next move already. Negative Approach intends to take some time off after this next tour, allowing the band members to recharge after a long tour.
Negative Approach were sure that they would make it after signing the record deal. They had heard stories of others still failing, but were sure they would be one of those bands. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller venues in which they started. Negative Approach met with a local DJ from B91.9 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the band. All the members quit their day jobs to focus on their music.
Negative Approach knows to play both the old and the new at their performances. The group has never played a bad concert in Dallas, so they make sure to schedule a stop there whenever they tour.
