Nikos Vertis’s members were friends in middle school. The group kept asking the local radio station to play their first single. Nikos Vertis began playing at City, a local bar. One of the band's members used to listen to the radio constantly as a kid.

A member of Nikos Vertis started dating a girl whose motherwas a record executive. She passed the single on to them and the band signed a record deal soon after. The band members were relieved that all the local festivals they had played had paid off. Nikos Vertis’s first album did not do so well, but the second album was a hit, going platinum. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller bars in which they started.

The band has just completed their most current album, and they are already planning the next release. Nikos Vertis will take some time off after this next tour, allowing the band members to rest after a long year.

The band loves playing in Tampa because they have never failed to sell out a how in the city.
