NOFX Tickets
NOFX started singing at the college dive bar Diva. The bassist was heavily influenced by his uncle's love for music. The lead singer wanted to start a group since he was in college. The members of NOFX were friends in high school. The group used to sell their tapes out of their truck on the street.
NOFX was discovered after their single was heard on a local music hour on Q97.9. The group members were relieved to have the opportunity to make an album and quit their day jobs that supported them while they worked hard at night to make their dreams happen. NOFX were still not sure if they would make it after getting a record. They had heard too many stories and knew that they were in no position to expect anything. Now the band headlines shows across the States.
NOFX realized they had finally made it as soon as Donna Gitlewski started a fan club for the group in 1980. The fan club may have just started out with a few members that followed the band when the played in small clubs, but it quickly grew to thousands after the group released its first album and started touring nationally.
NOFX's most current record is the band's first album in two years. The group is in the middle of the accompanying tour for their newest release. NOFX hope this tour and the latest album attracts another group of fans.
Generally, critics will praise NOFX for their playfulness with the crowd during live performances. A music critic from Houston, Trent Teisberg, has always praised band’s tremendous bassist. NOFX’s newest project has received generally positive reviews from Ed Van Hoos, a music critic out of Pittsburgh, and Ivan Bierlein, from Jacksonville.
The group has always had a good time in Chicago so they make sure to play there every year, even if they are not promoting anything. NOFX's performances always have the audience singing by the end of the show.
