The Gallagher brothers can dominate anything. In Oasis they have become such a force that they are the only two members left from the band’s formative years. Originally, Oasis was called The Rain and did not even have a Gallagher on stage. The group wanted to replace its lead singer and held an audition for Liam Gallagher. With his addition the group changed its name to Oasis.

The original lineup consisted of Liam Gallagher as lead singer, Paul McGuigan on bass guitar, Warren Mackenzie on xylophone, Paul Arthurs on guitar, and Tony McCarroll. Britain’s biggest band during the ‘90s started out playing live gigs around Manchester. Noel became involved after he saw his brother’s band as a place to try his songs. Otherwise, he was not particularly like the group’s sound.

Noel came in and transformed the group from a struggling group with no direction to a band on the verge of commercial success with a huge load of songs. Oasis became a group marked by musical simplicity. That band had its break after a year of playing live concerts on the circuit in 1993. The group was seen by Creation Records co-owner Alan McGee. The band was not even supposed to be playing that night, but they managed to bully their way n and impress the record executive.

Signed to a new record deal four days later, Oasis began to work on their first album, Definitely Maybe. The album reached the top of the UK and Irish charts and made a splash in the United States. Almost immediately the rivalry between Liam and Noah created friction in the group. Oasis was playing a show in Los Angeles in 1994 when Liam was high on crystal meth and attacked his brother. Noel threatened to leave the band.

For the next few years Oasis battled there way to the top of Britpop and made huge strides in the Untied States. The albums (What’s the Story) Morning Glory and Be Here Now reached number one on the UK charts again and reached the top 5 on the U.S. charts. The group replaced drummer Tony McCarroll with Alan White.

The in-fighting kept the group interesting to the media, but eventually it forced Paul McGuigan and Paul Arthurs to leave and severely crippled the popularity of Oasis. Since then, Oasis has continued to release albums that have had great success in the UK and all of Europe but have struggled in the United States.

The last album, Don’t Believe the Truth might be signs of things to change as the Oasis reached number 12 on the U.S. charts. Liam and Noah are still the major songwriters behind the group, with Liam as the lead singer and Noel as a guitarist. The rest of the group includes guitarist Colin Archer, bassist Andy Bell, and drummer Zak Starkey.

Oasis will touring this summer to promote the latest single off the soon to be released album Dig Out Your Soul. The group will quickly run through Canada and Seattle with only nine shows included on the tour schedule. Oasis tickets for the favorite rock band will be available on The Seats at very affordable prices and without any hassle.
