The members of Oblivion Express were friends in grade school. The drummer discovered his love of music while listening to his sister's collection of records. The drummer first found his love of music by listening to his grandmother's collection of records. Oblivion Express began performing at Fighter, a local dive bar. Buddy Holly heavily influenced the early work of the group.
The band is in the midst of the tour accompanying for their new project. Oblivion Express are expecting to bring in another audience with this tour and the new album.

A member of Oblivion Express started dating a girl whose fatherwas a record executive. She passed the single on to them and the band signed a record deal soon after. Oblivion Express first garnered some national attention with their first single.
Oblivion Express accepted that they were truly working musicians as soon as Sharon Rummerfield started the first fan club for the band in 1987. The fan club grew from a few dozen to a few thousand after Kimberly Cotroneo created a website for the group and a national tour gave the group plenty of exposure.
