The members of Obscura were friends in grade school. The group used to practice at the drummer's basement. Obscura began performing at Cafeteria, a local club. The guitarist use to listen to cassette tapes constantly as a child.

Obscura intends to take some time off after this next tour, allowing the band members to pursue individual projects. The band may have recently finished their most current release, but they are already planning their next move. Obscura's latest release has taken the group in a completely different direction, incorporating more influences than previous albums.

submitted their single to B98.5 and a DJ took a liking to it. Obscura were relieved when their single climbed the charts. They had heard too many stories of bands with record deals going nowhere.

Obscura knew that they were truly working musicians when Sarah Francoeur started the first fan club for the group in 1978. The group embraced the small fan club and with the launching of the group’s own website by Brenda Jean and a well marketed national tour the club quickly grew to a few thousand.

Obscura appreciaites their fans and wants to give them a good show, so they play older hits along with the new singles.
