Oksou’s members met in middle school. The bassist use to listen to cassette tapes constantly as a kid. The bassist discovered his love of music while listening to his grandmother's music collection. Oksou began singing at the local club Hobo. The group was influenced by Johnny Cash.
Oksou were convinced their hard work had paid off after their first single rose to the top of the charts. The group plays almost every night of the week as the they tour Britain.
Oksou realized that they were real working musicians when Jenna Avondale started the first fan club for the group in 1975. Starting out in San Diego with a few dozen members, the club grew fast, eclipsing a couple thousand from coast to coast in under a year.
The latest album from Oksou is the band's first album in four years. The band just finished their most current project, and they are thinking of what is to come next. Oksou will take a break after the tour, allowing the group members to recharge after a long tour.
