The band has evolved over the years and prospered as Scotland’s most explosive folk bands. At the years the members of the band included, Jonny Hardie, Buzzby McMillan, Ian Benzie, the guitarist and singer, Dave Francis as percussion player and the fiddle player, Carmen Higgins. Dave in the year 1992 departed himself from the band and he was replaced by Davy Cattanach and was a member of the band for a quite long time which included their tours and recording four CD’s such as “New Tricks”, “Close to the Bone”, “Tall Tails” and “Legacy” under the KRL Scotland’s record label.
In the year 1996 Fraser Fifield joined as the fifth member of the band, adding to the bands hypnotic talent with his tasty jazz licks while playing on the sax and his phonetic playing of the small pipes. Their first album with a troupe of four- entitled Five was immensely terrific in the year 1997 with their completion of fifth album they were obligated of the deal with KRL. Later in early 1997, Graham ‘Mop’ Youngson because of his funky, hard-hitting rhythm kit replaced Davy Cattanach. The band was involved in touring all over America, Germany, Spain, Denmark, UK., etc in the year 1998.
The magical year of 1999 emerged with a line up of new band members after lan Benzie retired from the band, with the separation of Fraser Fifield to some other musical projects. The Old Blind Dogs continued to rock the band with amazing Scottish singer and songwriter Jim Malcolm and sensuous Rory Campbell on small pipes and whistles. The year 2002 witnessed the separation of Paul Jennings and the joining of Fraser Stone in the bands on percussion. And also saw the release of the bands third CD 'Gab O Mey' in the same year. In the following year Aaron Jones replaced Buzzby McMillan on bass and bouzouki. The band toured profusely in the year 2004 and was endowed with the title of the “Band of the year award” on the Scots Trad Music Awards held at the Queen’s Hall, Edinburgh. The band was also involved in the concert tours all over, USA, Canada, Europe and had also planned to get into a live release of their next CD.
