Old Crow Medicine Show Tickets
The band Old Crow Medicine Show, popularly referred to as OCMS, has been mesmerizing their audience with their melodious American roots music with a rock and roll attitude. The group met in New York state, and set off on tour immediately after. They traveled to various cities, making music and then moved on, finally the band stayed in North Carolina for a year. While in North Carolina, lady luck came to them, while performing in front of a pharmacy, they were noticed by Doc Watson, the legendary folk icon right away scheduled the band to play at his MerleFest.
Old Crow Medicine Show is a very popular band from, Tennessee. They are known all over to perform their original songs, and also they do justice to many pre-World War II blues and folk song. Their style has been referred as; Americana, or alt-country, in addition to old-time. Everyone loved this genre right from baby boomers, to indie music and culture adherents, to young country fans who find the lyrics edgy and the music provocative. For a while the newly formed band bused street corners in Canada, honing their music before heading to the south. Finally after performing around, the band was discovered by Doc Watson's daughter, Nancy.
Their 2004 album O.C.M.S. was chosen by CMT (Country Music Television) as one of the top-10 bluegrass albums of that year. They band performs at bars, festivals, and larger venues and are seen often at the A Prairie Home Companion.
The band has achieved success because of their non-stop relentless touring schedule. Between headlining shows and countless festivals such as; Bonnaroo, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, New Orleans Jazz Festival, etc, the band is busy performing on road and actually sustains itself with their fans and live shows.
OCMS line up; Critter Fuqua, Kevin Hayes, Morgan Jahnig, Ketch Secor, and Willie Watson--have all carved out a niche for themselves in the music world. With the increase in popularity they were featured on the Late Night with Conan O’Brien, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the soundtrack for the Oscar nominated film Transamerica. The band has not only enthralled their American fans bit also overseas fan. The band has set off on a UK tour many times and has had the opportunity to be featured on Later with Jools Holland (BBC) and the Cambridge Folk Festival.
