Old School Freight Train’s members met in middle school. The drummer wanted to start a group since he was in middle school. The drummer discovered his love of music while listening to his sister's collection of records. Old School Freight Train started singing at the college dive bar Nugget. The band used to sell their CDs out of their truck on campus.
Old School Freight Trainwere tentative after releasing their debut release, but were more than relieved when they started hearing their music on the radio. The band is so popular they fan clubs in every city. After paying their dues and opening shows for years, Old School Freight Train was signed to a record deal. The groupstarted headlining shows as soon as they started playing together.
Old School Freight Train accepted that they could really have a career in music in 1999, as soon as Anna Fleetwood started the group’s first fan club. After the band’s first North American tour, the fan club grew from the couple dozen fans who heard the group play around Washington, D.C. to the thousands who heard them play nation wide.
After this last non-stop year the members of Old School Freight Train will take a break to pursue individual projects. The band is in the middle of the accompanying tour for their new album.
Often times, critics have praised Old School Freight Train for their ability to rile up the crowd during live performances.
