Om began performing at the college club Beach. The lead singer was heavily influenced by his grandmother's love for music. The drummer discovered his love of music while listening to his mother's record collection. The members of Om were friends in grade school. The band requested that the local radio station to play their songs.

Om’s first album failed to sell, but the second album saved them from obscurity. The band no longer has any problem selling out a show. A member of Om started dating a girl whose motherwas a record executive. She passed the single on to them and the band signed a record deal soon after. The members of the band all quit their other jobs to focus on their music.

Om accepted that they were real working musicians in 1999, after the band's first fan club was started by Maria Orsino. While the club started out small after the organizer heard the group play at a small club in Cincinnati, the club grew leaps and bounds after the group’s first national tour.

Om hope to team up with other artists while they are on tour. The group recently finished their new release, but they are thinking of what is next to come. Om's new release is a refinement of their original sound.

Om is able to please the audience every show by playing previous hits and songs from their latest record.
