Opeth began singing at the college bar City. The bassist used to listen to radio constantly as a kid. The lead singer used to listen to his father's cassette tape constantly as a teenager. Opeth’s members met in 1996. The band used to sell their tapes out of their van at local shows.

Opeth was discovered after single was played on X91.9. The band's members had horrible jobs when they started playing, just biding time until they would hit the big time. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller venues which they began.

Opeth's new project is the group's first album in two years. The band is in the beginning of the tour promoting for their new release. After this last hectic year the members of Opeth will take a break to rest.
