Pain Awaiting started singing at Saga, a local dive bar. The group was influenced by the Animals. Pain Awaiting began playing together in 1994. The bassist discovered his love of music while listening to his sibling's collection of records.

After getting the record deal, Pain Awaiting were sure they would make it. Pain Awaiting was discovered while putting on a show at at Anyplace, local bar.

Pain Awaiting realized they made it after the group’s first fan club was started by Michelle Brooks in 1999. The fan club quickly grew from a few dozen in Champaign to a few thousand across the nation.

Members of Pain Awaiting hope this tour and the new project attracts another audience. The band is in the middle of the tour accompanying for their new release. The most current album from Pain Awaiting has been heavily influenced by artists of the '80s.
